Top Five Tips for Finding Your Personal Fitness Motivation or Inspiration

At Train With Danny, our Los Angeles Fitness Trainer knows that everyone who is seeking fitness motivation or inspiration is different.

While some people share some of the same reasons for pursuing fitness and lifestyle changes, including weight loss, building muscle, or bettering their health, others have trouble breaking through their day-to-day activities that are currently perceived as good enough.

Because everyone is different, so is their motivation and inspiration for increased wellness.

Here are the top five tips for finding yours.

Tip #1: Set Realistic and Attainable Goals

It is practically impossible to run a marathon if you cannot jog around the block.

Instead of starting your wellness journey with the goal of running 26.2 miles, start with setting a goal that is realistic and achievable, so you do not become frustrated and give up.

Tip #2: Integrate Physical Activity Into Your Day-to-Day Movement

Not everyone has time to exercise each day. However, that should not be an excuse to avoid physical activity.

Take a hard look at your week before it starts and prioritize days and times you are available to workout, just as you would schedule any other important activity, so you take the time you need to step away for some much needed “me time” that will help reduce stress and promote positivity.

In between trips to the gym or runs in your neighborhood, slip in physical activity throughout the day in more obvious ways. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Take a walk during a break at work. Walk up and down the sidelines while watching the kids play sports. Park farther away from the entrances of stores while running errands. Every little bit of movement counts.

Tip #3: Make Physical Activity Fun (For You!)

Increasing your physical activity does not have to mean joining a CrossFit gym — unless you want to.

To ensure you are getting the most out of your physical activity, find fitness classes, sports, or other training opportunities that you like and enjoy doing. The more you enjoy it, the more committed you will be to keeping your workouts going.

Tip #4: Find a Workout Partner, Friend, Family Member, or Neighbor to Provide Support

You do not have to go through your wellness and lifestyle changes alone.

In fact, having someone to share your positivity with will allow you to maintain the support and confidence you need to keep going.

What’s more, you will provide the same for them, which is incredibly rewarding.

Find a friend, coworker, partner, or teammate that will help you push yourself to lead a healthier and more positive life.

Tip #5: Choose to Be Flexible

When you are too busy to work out or simply falling short in motivation, take a day or two off.

Go easy on yourself if you need a break, so you can reset and return to your routine with a new focus.

Discover our wide range of live classes you can plan around and look forward to, and on-demand workouts that allow you to be in charge of when, where, and how long you work out.
